Chris was on hand to help whenever we needed and was really friendly. He offered fantastic advice on local attractions and food places. The Hut was clean and had excellent facilities. The location was peaceful and made for a relaxing break. I definitely recommend this property for any couple looking for a quiet getaway.

The hut my partner and I stayed in was beautiful it was cute and cozy. Located in the best place with everything round the corner. A fab Chinese takeaway nearby which was amazing would recommend. We had an amazing time. I hope to maybe go back sometime in the future. Thank you both for having us.

“When we arrived we were greeted by the most polite and well spoken people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, they showed us to the hut and around the area before letting us settle in.”
The hut itself was situated in the perfect place and as the owner Chris says it definitely was as if the hut was always supposed to be there with how the trees had grown providing the perfect amount of privacy but not obstructing the beautiful view to the pond. The cleanliness was brilliant, everything was tip top! Chris and Helen couldn’t do enough for you! I’ve already recommended 3 people who’ve booked their stays there and I’m currently looking at gathering all my mates to book the whole site! 10/10 definitely should book! Thank you to the wonderful owners for a well needed break away.

Chris was very welcoming and friendly. The hut itself was immaculately presented with added homely details. There was also plenty of storage under the bed for suitcases/backpacks. The bed was very comfy and the TV was so big it made it feel like a cinema room which was great for the evenings. The shower was a really large rain shower with great pressure and temperature. We used the hot tub every day which was easy to use and lovely to sit and chill in after a days walking. There is also an outdoor seating and bbq/fire pits with each hut overlooking the lake which is lovely to sit by and relax. Would 100% recommend this accommodation you wont be disappointed.

This was a suprise for my girlfriend and she loved it. The hut is clean, has everything you want and the view with a lake is absolutely amazing. The ducks and (dogs) are super cute and there is so much seating and things to observe outside. The owners are lovely and were super helpful. There is so many places to explore and vist all around it really is a little gem. We will be back in the summer!

The owners Chris and Helen greeted us on arrival and helped us carry our bags, they then went through how to use everything and were extremely helpful. The hut had absolutely everything we needed in and the bed was so comfy! The place was so peaceful and we spent most of the time sitting on the garden furniture enjoying the view of the pond which was beautiful. I even had a massage from Lisa which was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend. Chris and Helen gave loads of recommendations on where to go and they were just such lovely genuine people, we also loved the dogs, Lillie and herbie as we are massive animal lovers. This is the perfect getaway and we will 100% be visiting again, we didn’t want to leave. We highly recommend.

We’d like to extend our greatest thanks to Chris for his fantastic hospitality. The huts are extremely modern with underfloor hearing and a fantastic shower, electric hobs, heated towel rack. But you also don’t lose the country feel, as there’s a log burner that really gets toasty! Brilliant venue with stunning views, Chris was exemplary with recommendations about where to visit to go and eat and have a drink around the local area. Tucked away around a small lake it’s so peaceful and relaxing. The quality and cleanliness of the hut is exceptional and the little extras in the fridge most welcome! Our hosts couldn’t do enough for us. The hot tub is great fun, even learning to light it and get it up to temperature, then it’s so relaxing, even when it’s 2 degrees outside.

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay at the beautiful shepherds hut for New Year! The Hut was perfectly decorated, clean and equipped with a log fire and everything we needed to relax! The hot tub was great – clear instructions and perfect to relax through the new year!
We would really recommend staying here, it’s perfect for couples, with excellent self catering facilities but also with great restaurants nearby in the villages!

The hut was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 night break. The area was peaceful and we saw some fantastic wildlife. To open your door and be greeted with the pond, ducks, butterflies and birds was completely delightful. The hot tub was easy to use and so relaxing. The hut has some lovely little details and we were able to watch the stars both outside and inside, it is these details that made our stay extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Chris was fantastic, he was available to help if we needed it and gave us some great information about the area and where to visit, he was a very friendly host. We would and will recommend Shepherds Lodge and can’t wait to go back.

It was the most relaxing and enjoyable time. Chris was very welcoming, helpful and informative. The hut was cosy, felt like home and had everything we needed. Hot tub was easy to use and such a lovely touch. The views were just beautiful. Looking out onto the pond in the morning with the duckies and horses in the distance, you just can’t beat it. Watching the sunset and star gazing in the evening, me and my partner even saw a shooting star on our last night. It is just the perfect place for a getaway. Peaceful, quiet and secluded. Chris has done a wonderful job with the huts and it was so nice to see how passionate he is about his home and grounds. I would recommend this place to everyone. I cannot fault his kindness. The pictures really does not give this place justice, it’s so beautiful and relaxing. I would highly recommend if your looking for somewhere that is like home but in a more comforting way.

Chris is a really lovely guy and super helpful, makes you feel really welcome. Me and my husband have crazy busy lives with work and family and we don’t really get much time for us, the weekend we spent at Shepherds Lodge was amazing ,we actually got to have a conversation without loading the washing machine or cooking dinner in between talking. Sitting outdoors you can hear many of the near by farming animals which for us is very different it’s usually transport that we hear when sitting outside trying to relax. The hot tub is fab having to light the logs to get the water to temperature was great fun for my husband, Chris has literally thought of everything there’s a hose incase the hot tub gets too hot ,picturesque outdoor scenery and lighting and inside the hut you will find everything you need it actually feels like home from home. The twinkling lights over the bed are so calming and add that little bit of peacefulness. All in all it was an amazing adventure and will definitely be returning.

When we arrived Chris, the owner, helped us with our bags to the hut. He gave us lots of recommendations of places to go and see and also helped us set us the hammock, BBQ and hot tub to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Chris and Helen both joined us for a drink on the Saturday night which was lovely, they are really friendly people! The lodge is on a beautiful lake and there is shared bar area which is perfect to have drinks whilst taking in the GORGEOUS scenery. We stayed up late in hot tub watching the stars and to cure our sore heads in the morning we had a lovely massage, which you can book for extra, off Lisa (we would definitely recommend this – Lisa is lovely and the massage was the best we’d ever had). Very cosy but with enough room and storage. Better than others we’ve stayed in previously as it has a proper toilet and shower etc. Each of the huts are well spaced out from each other so you have plenty of privacy as well. Easy to get to location. Plenty of recommendations on things to do/places to eat in the local area as well. The hot tub definitely holds in a surprising amount of heat which is great when you want to get it going the next day. However I think we misjudged how long it would take to heat up in the winter cold on the first night though! The owners were friendly and helpful. Would also recommend getting a massage from Lisa – very very reasonable price and super close.

The only down side was getting the hot tub started but that was soon resolved. For us the roaming dogs were a pleasant surprise, however it might be ideal to have a warning on the website as someone might be allergic or be afraid of dogs. Other than that we would definitely recommend this place and will be returning in the future.

We had a perfect stay, the place was really beautiful and peaceful, the hot tub was amazing, and they provided fresh milk, juice, sweets etc which we didn’t even expect, the only issue we had was on arrival, we arrived quite late so it was dark and raining, there were no signs, so we missed the gate and got lost but Tami and Chris were really helpful responded fast, would recommend staying here and definitely come back, highly recommend.

A perfect place for a short stay. Extremely clean and fresh, bedding smelt amazing 😍 essentials were left for our arrival; Tea,coffee, milk, bread etc. which was a lovely touch. The place itself was set in a very peaceful location in the countryside, no noise or passing traffic. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything needed to make meals.
The log burner within the shepherds hut made it very cosy and warm in there, taking less than half an hour to reach a very warm temperate. This was great, especially for this time of year. The bathroom was spotless and the most softest, fluffiest towels were provided as well as hand wash, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner as well as shower caps too!
There was an on-site bar area too which we had a wonder over to but didn’t use during our stay but would be perfect in warmer weather. Overall we had such a lovely stay during the festive period and we would definitely come back again. We have already recommended to other people.
